Strawberry Freestyles - Equestrian Musical Freestyle Design
As an equestrian sport defined by the International Equestrian Federation, dressage is described as "the highest expression of horse training" where "horse and rider are expected to perform from memory a series of predetermined movements”. Freestyle is an equestrian sport within the dressage discipline. Horse and rider perform a test/pattern to music in front of judges - similar to ice-skating or gymnastics performed to music.
The mission of Strawberry Freestyles is to produce professional level competition tracks for much less than the current market commands by streamlining the process. This will allow more horse and rider pairs to enjoy a truly beautiful sport.
As a drummer, Deborah has a highly developed sense of musical time, tempo, and rhythm. As an equestrian, Deborah understands how to match a horse’s gaits & tempo to music within the rules and requirements of the Freestyle discipline.
Strawberry Freestyles are a blend of multiple songs becoming one song, where the footfalls of the horse are in perfect harmony with the music.
About Strawberry: The name Strawberry comes from the C.S. Lewis book, The Magician’s Nephew. The horse Strawberry becomes Fledge, the father of winged horses. Fledge is short for Fledgling, which we all are before we grow our wings. Even an ordinary horse can be extraordinary!
